When the Sky

when the sky is suddenly broken
and no one is left to see the blue spilling
let the crushing breeze fall between
you the blue hills blue earth
feel the blue on your tongue
touch the ends of the earth
the wings of birds
with a no longer
sky

Maybe Wolf

echoes linger longer
linger in this blankness of his

he dreams easily enough even breezily
an anonymous boy wishfully fishing
in the bubbles little ripples
of dark and darting
shadows

on this night
he comes alone to see
the moon turn to blood
turn to wolf

he sees the moon wants to howl
alert the heavens to its presence
but somehow
has forgotten
how

it begs to eclipse itself
become its own pulsing shadows
its own deepening mysteries

the sunny breath
essence of the wolf's now
whispered
mighty
cry
